PixPolish is a free, browser-based photo editor with layers. You open a photo, edit it, and download the result — and your image never leaves your computer. Everything runs locally in your browser, so nothing is uploaded to any server.
Most online photo tools ask you to upload your pictures to someone else's server. For a family photo, an ID document, or a product shot that isn't public yet, that's a real privacy trade-off — and it's also slow. We believe modern browsers are powerful enough to do the whole job on your own device. PixPolish is our attempt to prove it: a genuinely useful editor and a growing set of one-task tools, all running 100% locally, with no account, no watermark and no file limits.
PixPolish is free to use, with no sign-up and no locked features. To cover our costs we may show unobtrusive advertising on content pages. We will never charge for the core tools, and we will never trade your images — they simply never reach us.
The editor is built on the open-source miniPaint project by ViliusL, used under the MIT license, with our own design, tools and AI features layered on top. The AI features use ONNX Runtime Web (WebAssembly) to run models such as U²-Net (background removal) and Real-ESRGAN (upscaling) directly in your browser. Our source attribution is in the footer of every page.
